Day 1 Shanghai Arrival Arrive in Shanghai and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city.
Day 2 Shanghai (B+L) You will visit the Jade Buddha Temple-where two rare jade statues of Sakyamuni Buddha is treasured, and the Yu Garden- a classical garden in downtown Shanghai, boasts a history over 400 years. Each pavilion, hall, stone and stream in the garden is expressing the quintessence of South China landscape design from Ming and Qing Dynasty. In the afternoon, you will go to the Shanghai Museum-located in the center of Shanghai in People's Square; it is a large museum of ancient Chinese art. The museum style and presentation surround visitors with artifacts demonstrating ancient wisdom and philosophy. The exterior design of the round dome and the square base symbolizes the ancient idea of a round heaven and a square land. And then take a walk along the famous waterfront-Bund-to fully appreciate this diverse city.
Day 3 Shanghai - Wuxi (B+L)
Take a train to Wuxi, you will visit the Turtle Head Peninsular Park and have a short cruise on Taihu Lake, which rank the 3rd of the five largest freshwater lakes in china. Continued enjoy in the Liyuan Garden which is one of the famous gardens for lake scenery in China and was formerly Fanli's residence.
Day 4 Wuxi (B+L)
Visit Lingshan Buddha, the world tallest copper standing statue of Sakyamuni. In the afternoon, go to Jichang Garden, one of china’s most outstanding classical gardens.
Day 5 Wuxi – Kunming (B+L) Transfer to take the flight to Kunming. Our guide will welcome you at the airport. Then Visit the Dragon Gate which is a big exquisite stone carved edifice. Transfer to the hotel and the rest of day is free for you to relax.
Day 6 Kunming (B+L) Drive along the new express way to Stone Forest. Stone Forest is 75 kilometers from Kunming and is accessible by a bus ride of 70 minutes. The Stone forest belongs to the typical Karst geomorphology, it consists of innumerable bizarre-shaped ancient limestone cliffs and peaks created by wind and water erosion some 200 million years ago, and this area is praised as the “First Wonder under Heaven". Drive back to Kunming by the old road, visit a village en route. Visit the Flower & Bird Market. Along with old houses that are well kept in its immediate neighborhood, Flower and Bird Market is now under Kunming's protection plan as the Old Town Quarter. Besides flowers and birds, the market offers also state of art samples of traditional Chinese arts, wooden sculptures, bronze ware, China knots, and more.
Day 7 Kunming – Dali (B+L) Transfer to take the morning flight to Dali. Meet the guide and visit the Three Pagodas that are considered the symbol of Dali. In the afternoon, go to the Bai Traditional House in Xizhou Village and explore the Dali Old Town.
Day 8 Dali - Lijiang (B+L) Drive to Lijiang and transfer to the hotel. (About three hours) In the afternoon, explore the Lijiang Ancient Town, with its wooden structures, small rivers and lanes integrating harmoniously.
Day 9 Lijiang (B+L) Visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain by private car. Take the cable car to Spruce Plateau and get close to this amazing Snow Mountain. In the afternoon, go to the distinctive Baisha Mural Painting.
Day 10 Lijiang - Beijing B+L) Visit the Yuhu Village, a village of Naxi minority with the former residence of Dr. Joseph Rock (An Austro-American botanist and explorer). In the afternoon, take the flight to Beijing. Meet the guide and transfer to the hotel.
Day 11 Beijing (B+L+D) You will visit the Tian'anmen Square-the biggest of its kind in the world, and the Forbidden City (Imperial Palace)-which locates in the heart of Beijing, is the largest and most complete imperial palace and ancient building complex in China. And you will also visit the Temple of Heaven, which itself has become a symbol of the city. In the afternoon, you will continue to visit the Summer Palace, the most beautiful imperial garden in China. Transfer back to your hotel at the end of the program. After dinner you will enjoy a fascinating Peking Opera Show at the Liyuan Theatre.
Day 12 Beijing (B+L+D) You will go to the Great Wall-Badaling Section, which is the world's longest human-made structure, stretching over approximately 6,400 km (3,977 mi). It is also the largest human-made structure ever built in terms of surface area and mass. In the afternoon, you will also go to the Ming Tombs area and visit the most famous emperor's mausoleum of Ming Dynasty with 500 years history-Chang Tomb. Transfer back to your hotel at the end of the program. In the evening, you will have a dinner served at the original, century-old Quanjude Roasted Duck Restaurant.
Day 13 Beijing (B) Transfer to take the departure flight for your hometown with a memorable tour in China. |
