Residents who tend to go to xihui Park to climb hills may have a new place to linger. The final construction plan was released by the city's Management Office of Gardens and Parks on July 23.
The old walls separating Xihui Park from the outside will be dismantled. Instead, an artificial river will separate the two parks. The outside park will serve as urban public green land and be free of charge. Admission will still be required for Xihui Park. A vehicle parking lot has been set up near the outside park which can contain 500 vehicles.
The construction on an affiliated park outside Xihui Park, smaller in size, started at the end of July and is expected to be completed early May of next year.
